Mr Morrison said on Monday that those entering Australia once the borders are fully reopened will be required to show proof of vaccination: “That’s the rule.”
Unvaccinated visitors who have a medical cause for not being vaccinated must still request for a travel waiver and, if approved, must quarantine at a hotel.
Chistain, 48, from Germany, said she was finally arranging a trip to Melbourne to meet her mother, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.
“She hasn’t seen her family in almost two years. “We’re hoping to go during the holidays in October or December,” she remarked.
Ms Chistain said she was hesitant to book at the present because she was “concerned about the flights and the large number of people who would be travelling.”
